Traditional Medicine
Traditional Medicine forms the backbone of our diagnostic evaluation and treatment plans. At all times HealthSmart M.D. providers follow the "standard of care in the medical community". All patients are advised to begin their program with a Comprehensive Laboratory Evaluation. These blood tests evaluate electrolytes, liver function, kidney function, red and white blood cells, thyroid function, hormone levels, iron and vitamin levels and cholesterol levels. Radiology studies including: X-rays, ultrasound, and MRI are routinely ordered. Medical specialty referrals are made to our network of private physicians or to your managed care providers. Once we have evaluated and discussed the Traditional Medicine options, Complementary Therapies may be added as an adjunct not a replacement for Traditional Medical care. Our primary goal is to educate you about all of your treatment options and then to safely integrate Traditional and Holistic care.
